We Reviewed Nioxin’s Hair Thickening Serum

I’ve always had thin hair (thanks, Mom!), but I recently started noticing a difference in my current hairline compared to pictures from just a few years ago. I don’t know if it’s from pandemic stress, age, genetics, always wearing a tight ponytail, or a combination of all those things, but I’m definitely not a fan of this new look.

I’ve started trying various products to help regrow, thicken, and decrease hair loss.

I’ve used shampoos, collagen supplements, prenatal vitamins (never even been pregnant- lol), biotin capsules, and basically anything else that might give my wig a fighting chance.

So when I found this Nioxin Night Density Rescue hair serum at Ulta, I had to try it. I’d used Nioxin shampoos and conditioners before, and those seemed to work well for me.

According to Nioxin’s clinical study, 90% of users noticed healthier manes after using it. The leave-in treatment also claims to boost hair density after two months. Let’s grow!

The instructions seemed easy enough. Apply two to four droppers onto your scalp at bedtime. Use on damp or dry hair. Massage into head. Brush through. Do not rinse. Repeat nightly.

Admittedly, I only tested it for 30 days, and it clearly recommends 60 days. But halfway through, I’m not seeing much difference. I still apply it, and if I suddenly have lush Kardashian-esque locks, I’ll be sure to update my review accordingly.

I can’t tell the difference so I’d give this product a one out of five score. If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, Ulta is offering a free gift with purchase (Deep Protect Density Mask valid thru 11/18/23 or while supplies last). Maybe that will work better than the Nioxin Night Density Rescue serum. Hair’s to you and your future fluff!
